About

Five years ago, I was presented with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy after my old dog died.  I had never before had a purebred dog, but I was looking forward to quiet, gentle, complacent, and obedient behavior.  Instead I got a bad boy dog in a fancy dog suit.  He is all boy, all dog, and does not understand me at all.  These are the letters I wish I could write to him, in an effort to guide him to better (more socially acceptable) behavior.  Good luck to me with that…

  1. Ha! Corgi’s are not quiet nor are they complacent. But, they are about the cutest thing around. We have two, Lightning and Raindrop and they have been the best dogs ever. (Although Lightning being the male he is a whole lot more stubborn than Raindrop….) Love the blog and I love the letters! Very cute! 🙂

    • Thanks for the feedback. He is kinda cute, and definitely loyal and lovable. Like having a perpetual 2 year old in the house. Keeps me young, I guess…

  2. Laughing so hard I cried…my 15 month old boy both looks and acts like Flash, whereas my 8 year old girl is a pillow princess, who occasionally agrees to compete in agility. Love, love, love the letters!

  3. Our 5yr. old fellow..Dewey..has matured nicely and cooperates well…when he feels like it. Love the letters!!!!!

    • Unfortunately, Flash has matured as well. He cooperates if he sees the food & thinks he’s going to get it. Just like me, now that I think about it.

  4. I love the blog, and the twits. I have two Pembroke Welsh Corgis, my male Quay and female, Butter. They will be 8 in November, and while Butter has matured Quay still thinks he is 6 months old. Flash is a cutie, and I’m so happy I found your blog, these letters made my day.

  5. I love this! Hoover, our dog, runs at my side all the time. Or lies at my side. Or tells people I do not give her enough food. Or hugs. Or attention. But Darcy, the corgi, used to come riding, running at our heels catching up after a gallop and still finding time to check out the deer and rabbits on the way. Great dogs.

  6. Your blog is hilarious. Just shared a link to the most recent post on the Daily Corgi facebook page. Would love you to guest post for the blog. Drop me a line!
